On Tuesday 12 December Central Parklands once again hosted the annual Sanctuary Cove Christmas Doggy Party and as a first time attendee I cannot put into words how amazing it was to see over 50 amazingly well mannered, coiffed pooches and their loving owners unbridled joy at the festivities.
Mark Winfield and his army of pooch lovers put on one of the most feel good events we have been to in years.
Well done to all!
This annual event attracted local dog owners and other residents who like to join in and see “the array of over-decorated, over-pampered, over-priced doggies”.
Everyone attending contributed to the event by providing and sharing food and drinks and chairs to sit on, even though most of the attendees spent the entire event on their feet mingling or chasing down recalcitrant dogs.
This year included an array of prizes for the pooches, the categories were:
- The “Dame Edna Award” (best dressed),
- The “Rainbow Award” (most colourful),
- The “Austin Powers Award” (most randy canine of the year),
- The “Speedy Gonzalez Award” (quickest dog over 100m),
- The “Twiggy Forrest Mining Award” (dog that digs the most holes),
- The “Old Dog Award” (oldest doggy that still has a pulse),
- The “Twins Award” (the dog who looks most like their master),
- The “Matt Hollywood Award” (the dog that can do the most tricks),
- 2 “Judge’s Special Mention Awards” (the cutest doggies who deserve a prize anyway, lest their masters feel hard done by).
Thanks you to all the residents that attended and a massive thank you for allowing Mulpha and Ioesco to be involved.
